In the future it is quite possible there may be cylindrical wind turbine kits generating energy. Well, at least on small start-up believes this to be the case. Indeed, I find such an aerodynamic design a solid platform, but prefer the Hexagon shape with fins, skags, or stall fences a better design over all. No sense in getting into that aerodynamic conversation here, as it could go on for several pages. What I’d like to talk about today is the launching sequence of such a device into the sky.
Generally speaking kites as you know are launched vertically, and for such a device to work properly at some point the angle of attack will need to be lowered to that of the prevailing relative wind. Continue reading Hexagon Shaped Kite Wind Turbine and Vertical Takeoff
